Mystic, Conn. (October 1, 2026) – Olde Mistick Village, an iconic shopping and dining experience with a classic New England atmosphere, will host its annual Scarecrows in the Village from Thursday, Oct. 1 through Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.
This month-long family tradition transforms the historic 22-acre village into an open-air art gallery featuring dozens of unique, handcrafted scarecrow displays created by Olde Mistick Village merchants. Visitors of all ages are invited to stroll the colonial pathways, discover creative scarecrow designs, and support local businesses throughout peak autumn season.
Guests can actively participate by casting votes for their favorite scarecrows using interactive QR codes placed at displays throughout the village. Official award categories include "Best in Crow," "Most Representative," and Mystic’s maritime favorite, "Most Seaworthy."
Throughout October, local eateries and dining establishments across the village will serve seasonal fall menu items, warm spiced cider, and autumn bakes alongside non-seasonal favorites. Visitors can explore spooky book recommendations from Alice's Haunted Little Bookshop and gather haunted hauls at The Cloak and Wand, a local wizarding and witchcraft shop featuring a well-appointed potion bar.
Four-legged visitors are also welcome along the scarecrow trail, with pet-safe fall treats, Halloween costumes, and autumn accessories available at Raining Cats & Dogs.
Scarecrows in the Village will be on display daily from October 1 through October 31, 2026, during regular village hours.
