The scent of fresh seafood and a hint of salt air now greet travelers before they even leave the terminal. At Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, the newly opened Spring House Seafood Grill brings a breezy slice of Block Island to the North Terminal. Located near Gate 11, the 1,900-square-foot restaurant seats 85 and feels like a welcome exhale before takeoff.
Inspired by the iconic Spring House Hotel, the space channels coastal Rhode Island with a relaxed, polished touch. It is easy to imagine you are closer to the bluffs than the boarding line.
Then there is the food, which makes a strong case for arriving early.
The lobster roll leads the charge, packed with Maine lobster and finished with a bright yuzu kosho aioli on a warm buttered roll. Nearby, fried calamari comes tossed with cherry peppers and a splash of aged balsamic, while coconut shrimp and shrimp cocktail keep things classic with just enough flair.
Comfort favorites hold their own. A stacked smashburger, a crispy fried cod sandwich, and a bowl of clam chowder offer familiar flavors done right. Even breakfast gets a glow-up, with chicken and waffles and a bacon-loaded breakfast sandwich ready for early departures.
“Spring House Seafood Grill was created to give travelers a true sense of place the moment they arrive,” said Francesco Balli, Co-Founder and CEO of Grove Bay Concessions.
That sense of place carries through the details, from Cape Cod chips on the side to a signature Bloody Mary that feels like a mini vacation in a glass. It is thoughtful, distinctly local, and a far cry from typical airport fare.
“Spring House Seafood Grill brings together great food, memorable experiences, and a strong sense of place,” added Farouk Rajab of RI Hospitality.
For travelers passing through, it is a reminder that Rhode Island’s coastal charm starts the moment you land or take off. To browse the full menu or learn more, visit grovebayconcessions.com.
