Each year, Aldersbridge Communities gathers supporters, caregivers, and friends for an evening that truly lives up to its name: the Adding Life to Years Gala. On Thursday, December 4, the nonprofit will once again fill the Grand Ballroom at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick with warmth, gratitude, and community spirit in support of Rhode Island’s older adults.
Presented by Moss Home Solutions, the event begins at 6pm. with a cocktail reception, followed by a full-course dinner, live and silent auctions, and a mission-driven program. WPRI-TV meteorologist T.J. Del Santo will emcee the celebration, which honors both the organization’s mission and the people who help it flourish.
“The gala is our opportunity to celebrate the mission and passion of our organization, which is to provide communities where older persons can live in comfort, with dignity and purpose,” says Elise S. Strom, chief development officer of Aldersbridge Communities. “Thanks to the generosity of our attendees and sponsors, we are able to fund enrichment activities, programs, and more for our residents, truly adding life to their years.”
Proceeds from the gala will directly benefit Aldersbridge’s affordable assisted and independent living communities, as well as therapeutic and enrichment programs and rehabilitation services offered across Rhode Island. The organization’s four locations – Winslow Gardens, The Loft at Linn, Arbor Hill, and St. Germain – provide a range of services that support older adults in living meaningful, comfortable lives.
This year’s honorees include Michael Cole of Charlton, Massachusetts, president of the Aldersbridge Board of Trustees, recognized for his leadership, and Colleen McMichael of Cumberland, Rhode Island, honored for launching a “robotic cat adoption” initiative at The Loft at Linn, inspired by her late mother’s experience.
The 2025 theme, “Aim for the stars. You will sooner reach the moon,” reflects Aldersbridge’s vision of compassion and care that uplifts every resident. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are available through November 21 at aldersbridge.org. Donations of auction items are also being accepted, inviting the community to play a part in adding life to years for Rhode Island’s elders.
