2. In downtown Providence, Eastside Mart has been owned and operated by Paul Smith and his family for the past six years. Among their selection of local products you can find Del’s famous lemonade, Annie B’s honey from Cumberland and Brown Bear peanut butter from Providence.
3. Tom’s Market in Warren has no shortage of locally-sourced products, including Fox Point Pickles, Catanzaro’s pasta sauce from Pawtucket, and Warren-based Anchor Toffee. Two additional locations can be found in Tiverton and Coventry, and at each their promise of “fresh, local and exceptional” food holds up.
6. South County Food Co-op in Wakefield nurtures community roots by selling a range of local products. What started as a grassroots co-op in 1970 has transformed into a successful grocery and cafe. In their aisles you can find Windmist Farm eggs, Rhody Fresh milk, Glee Gum and Poblano Farm salsa from South Kingstown.
7. This certainly isn’t your mother’s pantry. Nestled inside a restaurant serving cocktails and New American fare, The Pantry at Avenue N is an upscale market that boasts a selection of local goods, including Granny Squibb’s Iced Tea and Warren’s Biggest Little Popcorn Company.
8. Dave’s Marketplace has been locally owned since 1969, and having opened their newest location in Cranston earlier this year they’re not showing any signs of slowing down. Anyone looking to buy local goods will find plenty in their stores, like Pawtucket-based Chi Kitchen’s kimchi or sauerkraut from Cranston’s Lost Art Cultured Foods.
