Get Healthy South County: Wood River Health Services

Healthcare that puts patients first

Posted

Big things are happening at Wood River Health Services, a private, nonprofit community health center devoted to quality patient care. In July, they opened a second center in Westerly in addition to the one in Hope Valley. In August, they were the only health center in RI to be recognized as a National Quality Leader by the US Department of Health and Human Services. They also achieved Gold Status as a Health Center Quality Leader and ranked in the top ten percent of all health centers for best overall clinical performance.

“WRHS is a patient-centered medical home that has been serving the community for almost 45 years,” says President & CEO Alison Croke. “Like all health centers, we are rooted in the community.” Their mission is to improve the health and well-being of the community “by assuring access to affordable high-quality healthcare, coordinated services, and health related information.”

WRHS offers primary medical, dental (Hope Valley only), and behavioral services. They provide case management, Women, Infants and Children program, community resource specialists, and certified insurance navigators. They currently run smoking cessation and pain management groups, and accept most insurance, including Medicare/Medicaid. And now, WRHS is accepting new patients at both their Westerly and Hope Valley sites. So, if you’re looking for care that puts you first, call to schedule today.
