Rhody Happenings

Celebrates the Tastes of Europe

Posted

September 9-11: Roasted lamb, pastitsio and spanakopita sound great, but that’s just the surface of the 31st Annual Cranston Greek Festival at the Church of the Annunciation in Cranston: visitors can also tour the church and observe traditional dances.

September 30-October 1: For two days, Rhode Island has its very own Little Bavaria. Oktoberfest at the Pawtucket German Club combines German cuisine with German culture for an entire weekend of beer and sausage, as well as traditional dances, music and dress. Prost!

October 7: Head down to Oktoberfest at Bold Point Park in East Providence for a day of beer, beer and more beer. Choose from dozens of brews - local, imported and craft - and pick up a hot dog while enjoying live music and (responsible) drinking games.

October 8-10: The best Italian food in Providence comes to Federal Hill for Columbus Day Festival Weekend. Combine your pasta obsession with live music, Italian markets and the big Columbus Day parade. All other festivals strive to be as tasty as this one.
